I bought mine from the original owner and are as close to mint as you can hope for. Overall if you see these speakers around and they look in good condition pick them up, and feed them well because these front ported monsters want you to let them sing. The mids were impressive, they were right where they needed to be without overwhelming anything and perfectly accenting and carrying the song. The highs were not pitchy or bright and the lows were sweetly punchy, not muddy or overambitious. They played my Japanese Toshiba Odeon records with a clarity and accuracy that I had been looking for in speakers for a while. When I brought them home they sang quite well with my Digital set up but it was when I passed my vinyl system through these puppies did I see them come alive. I auditioned them with FLAC files going into a Dragonfly DAC and passing through a 1997 Denon AVR 2600 and it sounded extremely clean. I mean really loud, the have a 100 watt maximum I dare you to feed these bad boys about 75 and see if you can turn it past half way before you can't hear yourself think, well other than I should turn these down a bit.Īnd while these speakers are very transparent for being a Klipsch set though they are very forward, these babies scream to be played loud and want you to push them. r/vinyl Anything and Everything about Turntables & RecordsĢ0 years old is vintage right?
